- St Bridget day crosses are put in the rafters of the houses in honour of the saint. They are usually made of rushes but some more of them are made from rushes
St Patrick: shamrock is worn by the people. It is usually found grown in the railway. Some people wear it on their coat, but the men usually wear it on the bands of their hats.
Ash Wednesday we go to Mass to get blessed ashes and to receive Holy Communion. Then people who can't go to Mass get some of the blessed ashes of their neighbours.
