  1. Mickey Magee had a cow and she got sick. She was a springer cow and died in calfing. In a while after he went fishing for eels setting bags in the drains of bog holes. When he went there next morning very early he saw the cow and calf that died grazing on the edge of the lake. He went over to Máire Cannon a witch that knew everything in Cloonfad Co Roscommon. Máire said if he had the rope that tied the cow before she died he could catch her and get her again. Next morning Mickey went to the lake
