  1. There were no shops in olden times and in this manner they people had to go to the adjacent town to purchase their goods. In olden times the people after the last mass use to buy and sell inside the gates but this is gone out of fashion now. In olden times money was not always given for exchange. But cattle were given and sometimes swaped. If one of the cattle were better than the other two pounds and so on was given as boot. It was thought unlucky to transact business on Wednesday. They markets were held in town
