  1. John the tailor as he was called lived in this parish about twelve years ago.
    When he earned two or three shillings he went to the public and had a few drinks.
    Again and again the parish priest met him going home drunk and cautioned him not to drink again.
    Now to avoid the priest John had to cross the fields on his way home for the public house.
    This was kept up for some time but one day he met a friend out side the "pub" as he himself
