  1. (continued from previous page)
    I remember too when I was ill she,
    kissed my burning brow;
    The tears that fell when my cheeks,
    I think I feel them now
    ***
    I have got some little books
    she taught me how to spell.
    The chiding kiss she gave me I,
    still remember well.
    And when she used to kneel and,
    teach me how to pray,
    And raise my little hand to,
    Heaven and teach me what to say.
    Oi Mother. Mother, in my heart thy,
    image still shall be.
    And I will hope that in Heaven,
    I will meet with Thee.
