    June is an unlucky time for marriages. It is unlucky to get married on a wet day. It is lucky to get married on a fine day. It is lucky for the bride to have -
    Something old and some thing new,
    Something borrowed and something blue.
    It is also lucky for the bride to have a bit of white heather in her clothes.
    When the couple are going out the door to go and get married, it is lucky to throw a shoe after them.
    It is lucky to have a sovereign in you pocket when getting married.
    It is unlucky for the bride to let the ring fall on the altar.
    When they come home from church, the first one to enter the house is the first that will die.
