- Long ago when a person had a toothache, he would put creosote in the tooth, and others would keep smoking to banish the pain. The people had also a cure for the chin cough. They would get milk from an ass to drink, and others would give milk to a ferrett. When the ferrett would have some of it taken they would take the remainder from him and give it to the person, that would have the chin cough, to drink.(continues on next page)
