    the field after the eviction and invoked the anger of God in a most solemn manner not only on the evictor, Scamp, but on the field itself and on any who should take up the tenancy afterwards.
    No one of course offered as tennant and the field remained on the agent's hands.
    Scamp then set about tilling the field but in spite of all he could do in the matter of tilling and manuring every thing failed. To this day it can be seen growing nothing but stunted furze which every effort at eradication failed to remove.
