    9. The rooks are flying about.
    10. When the walls get damp.
    11. When the tables and chairs have a cracking noise.
    12. When the far way hills look near.
    13. When the cat sits with her back to the fire.
    14. In the evening if black smoky clouds hang over the sea [sic] rain will follow.
    15. If you notice that the frogs change their colour from yellow and become dark it is a sign of very wet weather.
    16. At night if the moon and stars grow dim and a ring encircles the rain will soon follow.
    17. If mist gathers in the hallows or rises from lakes and rivers rain will soon
