  1. Weather signs in this district.
    This is the rhyme about the wind at certain points.
    “When the wind is from the north
    It blows the fish forth.
    When the wind is from the south
    It is in the rain’s mouth.
    When the wind is in the east
    It is bad for man and beast.
    And when the wind is from the west
    It is far the best.”
    When the cat sits with her back to the fire and when the dog sleeps storm may be expected. When there is a ring round the moon; when there is a blue blaze in the fire and when the hills seem near storm may also be expected.
    Rain may be expected when ants are to be seen on the road. The south wind brings most rain to my district. When the swallows fly low and when the donkey stands with his back to the ditch rain may be expected.
    If the sky is red when the sun sets it
