  1. Once upon a time I heard about a cattle dealer named Scamlon, he used to drive his cattle and sheep up to the fairs in Leinster. One day e had a number of sheep in every pen and there was a man at each pen watching his sheep. The dog was walking about watching a pen for his master and he jumped into another pen and caught one of the sheep by the back of the neck and would not let her go. The men that were there were beating him and his master came up to him. He told them to stand back and he went up to the sheep and he examined he horn. He said to the men; "this is the sheep I lost twelve months ago.
