  1. I heard one time abut a Mass being said in a field belonging to the McGlincheys. The Mass was said by Farther Morgan and it was in the Penal Days.
    Some time afterwards there was a lime-stone quarry opened at the place where the Mass was said, and two men who were working in it got injured. Their names were Patrick Tinney and Neil Mc Hugh. They were blasting the rock when it exploded and Mc Hugh lost an eye. The tongs were blown from Tinney’s hand and they were found in a bag in Monellan three weeks after it.
