    Come all ye loyal Catholics
    I hope you wil draw near
    A doleful lamentalion
    I a going to let you hear
    Concerning a young clergyman
    Who is confined to prison cell
    As the crown will not take the bail
    On Sunday after Mass
    Inspector Martin did him arrest
    He tore the collar off his neck with a long sword in his hand
    He says you are a prisoner
    And you must come along
    When the people saw their priest
    A prisoner at their door
    David being amongst the crowd
    A stone he did procure
    He put the stone into a sling
