  1. The people in former times were man and woman big before they began to wear boots.
    Most children at present (wear) go barefooted all summer. Boots are made and repaired locally. There are two shoemakers in Killygordon. Most people in former times repaired their own boots, as there were not as many boots worn as there are at present. Clogs were made in Ballybofey. Leather was made in Killygordon. Some foot covers were made of leather and some were made of untanned hide.
