The usual walk to Derry from here can be done in about two hours by good walkers which is a distance of nine miles. At Newtowncunningham sports a man named Terry Meenan could jump from five feet eleven to six foot one.
    John Doherty is able to swim a mile without a rest. Moses Carruthers could mow five roods in a day. Hughie Friel is a noted step-dancer and singer. I never heard of many noted story tellers.
