  1. The following proverbs were told to me by my father no other scholar has written them.
    Make hay while the sun shines.
    The proof of the pudding is the eating.
    Learning without cultivation is like a pudding without fat.
    It's better late than never.
    A new broom sweeps clean but an old one scrubs better.
    Youth is the proper season of virtue.
    A closed fist won't catch a bird.
    A rosy apple is often rotten at the core.
    Look not a gift horse in the mouth.
    Deep waters run smooth.
    Sufficient for the day is the evil there of.
    Never keep your breakfast for your supper.
