  1. I was born and reared in the townland of Knockmoyle west and in the parish of Ballinakill which is in the barony of Leitrim. My home is situated about ten miles from Loughrea and six miles from Woodford. The number of families in the townland is four and the approximate number of people is fourteen. Fallon is the most common family name as there are two families of that name.
    Two of the houses ar thatched and two are slated.
    There is one old woman aged seventy one years. She does not speak Irish but she tells stories in English.
    Her name is Mrs Manning and her address is Wastelands, Moyglass, Kylebrack, Loughrea, Co. Galway.
    In former times houses were numerous locally and larger families.
    There are the ruins of six houses on the mountain behind our house.
