A Local Song - Boolaveen
“There was a night of great pleassure”
There was a night of great pleasure.
It's equal yet never was seen.
In a gloomy untenanted mansion.
That romantic old house Boolaveen
11
The heather with dew on it was sprinkled.
Fair Lunas bay clouded with fog.
While the moans of the far distant rivers,
Their echoes did ring o'er the bog.
111
With light steps and a heart full of pleasure.
I hastened my way to the Ball.
Where my boots at the door I had cleaned them
And my hat I hung up in the Hall.
1111
The Ball room I then quickly entered.
Many strangers I soon beheld there.
From Derrybrine slope and sod fences,
And the mountainous part of North Clare.
11111
From Lagoo and Wasteland to mention.(continues on next page)- Collector
