  1. (1) Some twenty years ago there was a terrific storm, and it rained continuously for several days. The only hay the Loves had out of a large field that year was what was picked out of the hedges.
    (2) In 1836 there was a terrific storm in Friaryland and all the hay and oats were destroyed on those who had not their crops taken into the haggards.
    (3) The winds were so strong in 1898 that a car, travelling from Castlerea was blown into the bogs.
