  1. In my district people think that if they set their crops on Good Friday they will grow. They usually set potatoes, cabbage, and turnips on Good Friday.
    When they are letting out young calves, they always let them out on the first of May.
    Saturday is a very unlucky days to begin any work because it is said you will never finish it.
    When they are putting their sheep to the mountain they put them up on a Monday.
    There a lot of old sayings about certain days. It is said "if you are sick on a Sunday you will be well on a Monday." Saturday's flit is a short sit. If you get sick, your hair cut on Good Friday it will never grow.
    They days borrowed by March from April kills the old cows. Onions should be set the shortest days of the year and pulled on the longest day of the year. If onions are stolen from a person the ones that are left will rot.
