    They concluded that it was the fairies who were in it and they never bothered to get up any more no matter what noise they heard outside. There is another fairy fort in Tullentloy and the old people said that it was a pass for fairies. Brian Gallather (already referred to) says that he didn't see a fairy for the past fifty years.

  2. St. Brigid's Eve:
    On St. Brigid's Eve (the last night in January) rushes are gathered and every member of the family makes a cross in honor of St. Brigid. These crosses are sprinkled with Holy Water and hung up in the house and out office.
    Shrove Tuesday:
    Shrove Tuesday is looked upon as a "set" night - that is a night on which a special supper is eaten. In this district, boxty and pancakes are made.
    Easter Sunday:
    On Easter Sunday morning the sun is supposed to dance with joy on account of the Resurrection of our Saviour. Children must get up very early to see it and in order to do so they must look into water
