  1. There is a collection for the Pope on Saint Peter and Paul's Day the 29th of June. On Saint Stephen's Day people keep from eating meat to save them from taking diseases. On Saint Brigid's Day there are crosses made and it falls on the first of February. On Saint Martin's Day the 10th of November there used to be a fowl killed in honor of him.
    On the twelth day of Christmas there used to be rush candles made and dipped in butter. Everyone would mark a candle for themselves and light them to see which of them would live the longest.
