  1. Long ago it was believed that when a child was born it was stolen and a fairy left in its place. It is supposed that this happened in a tailor's house. This tailor had two men employed. There was a young son aged thirteen months in the house who was dumb. One day the father and mother were absent. The two men were and the child was in the cradle.
    After a while they heard him saying "Nah" "Nah" "Nah." They wondered at this and they asked him what was wrong with him. He looked around and asked "is she away" (he meant his mother). They said that she was and he lifted a bagpipes from the bottom of the cradle and began to play.
    When the mother returned the men told her what had happened. They
