    There was a depot in Dromahair for giving out it out. You go their with your bag and only a certain amount that each head of a family would get. The pot on the fire waiting for food often came off three times. They turned on another sgale and made the meal into stirrabout and carted it out to the people in tubs and gave each head of a family so much a day. You had not far to go to look where the stirrabout was giving out it is called "Stirrabout Bray" from that day to this. (Benbow Mountains Bohey Dromahair) After that the landlords of Dromahair and their agents formed a schism of road making. The Lough Na-Lú road was on these principles there was an old lake there which still partly remains. Davey Sturt and Thomas McGuinness (Dromahair Co Leitrim) on (bishop) they were employed under Fox to suppervise the work to drain Lough na-Lú. (Fawn Dromahair) Numbers of men worked away steads at it the bread was sorted to them from a near by shop named Kelly's. (Primlease Dromahair) Their wages were small. The man supplying the bread to them the number of men being so large he could not hand each man his loaf. So he started firing out the bread it was well known that some mens bones were broken
