- Superstitions (1) In olden times people were very superstitions. They believed that if they were two spoons in a cup it was the sign of a wedding or a christening. They also believed that if the tongs was put over the cradle that it would keep the fairies from bringing the child.
(2) If you loose a needle or a pin you have nothing to do only tie a straw on a crook and you will get it.
(3) When you are dressing in the morning you should put on your right shoe first for good luck.
(4) If you are going anywhere in the morning and met a red haired women it is a sign of bad luck.
(5) If you spill salt you should throw some over your left shoulder.
