  1. In the townland of Greaghnafarna, about one hundred years ago, there lived a man known locally as Seán Ruad Kelleher. He had the reputation of a being a fearless man who dreaded nothing, living or dead. He was out at all hours of the night and in order to question ghosts, he was brought all over Co. Leitrim to places where apparitions were seen. He always succeeded in sending them to rest and they never appeared again. But the most weird experience he ever had was the following one.
    One night he was coming home very late as usual and he had to pass the fort on James Mc Gourty's land. When walking past the fort, he saw a young man under a bush, who was dead over twelve months. Kelleher went, at once, in his direction and questioned him and asked him if he could be of any service to him. The spirit told Seán that when he was on earth he was
