- (continued from previous page)the brother missed the cow and they were to have the tresher the day after. His mother lived in the one house with the man that had no family and she said "Remove this bin down to your brother's house and I will go into it and if they are saying anything about the cow, I will hear it all". Next day the bin was removed down and she went into it. The night came and the man came in and said. Why have ye not a pot of soup after the cow to night. Put a of the cow down until we have a feed". He did not know his mother was inside in the bin and she said to herself "I have it all now". The man that killed the cow came in and said, when did ye get that? He went to look at it and when he raised up the cover he saw his mother inside and he called the other man. The man did nothing but take the bone of the cow and run down. He caught the woman by the two hands and stuck the bone into her mouth and shooked her. He said "be eating that for yourself". Next day when the bin went home they opened it to let out the mother and seeing her dead he said she got chooked eating a bone when she had [?] air. So she never lived to tell anyone about the cow.
