  1. The fairs long ago used always be held in a fort, field, or street, but nowadays the fairs are in towns. There is a place about a mile from my house called Fort an Aonaigh. In this field the fairs were held. There is a large rock in the middle of the field where the buyers used pay the men for the animals. There is also a post with bulbs out each side of it, for the people long ago bought a lightning-set to light the bulbs on fair - nights.
    Long ago the buyers used go around from house to house to buy the animals. The buyers used give very little money
