  1. There was once a big castle in Dromod. The castle belonged to Mr Foster of County Leitrim. The rains of the old castle is only left there now is a grassy mound. Mr Foster game keeper in the woods of Aughrey. He was a very rich man. He lived in the castle nearly all time. My father worked with him in the castle. Mr Foster was on a visit to Derry-Carne and he was asleep in bed and the Black and tans capured him and shot him dead. Some people said that the seen a light one or two nights at the castle of Aughrey. It was a great big castle.
