    An other local cure for sore-throat was to get a glass of hot water and to put two tea-spoonfuls of home made black currant jam into it and then to drink the mixture.
    The old cure for a stye in the eye was to get cold strained black tea and rub it to the stye.

  2. Caraígeen moss boiled and mixed with brown sugar and lemon juice was taken when going to bed and again when fasting in the morning. It is supposed to be a great cure for sore-throat.
