  1. A FORT.
In Mr Hill's farm there is a fort which was opened by two men about the year 1890. They went in and found two passages, one leading towards a neighbouring farms, Mackennas, and the other towards Laides. In each of those farms there are forts. There were rooms on either side of the passages, and those were roofed over head and lined with flagstones. The rooms were low and small. This story was told by Mr J. Blennerhassett, Gortatlea, who saw these two men go in, but was too young to join them.
