    It breaks my heart to have to part and to bid a fond adieu

    It was at the fair of sweet Goleen I spent a happy day,
    With dancing and with singing the
    time we passed away.
    A flowing glass around did pass our spirits to renew,
    I can't forget those happy days I spent in Sweet Kilmoe.

    'Twas well I knew Crookhaven that place so grand
    Where on holidays we used to meet old friendships to renew
    My own colleen with her smile serene
