  1. Collection of prayers
When going to sleep little children are taught to say:-
As I lie down my head to sleep
I give my soul to God to keep
There are four corners on my bed
There are four angels round my head
St Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
bless the bed that I lie on.
Another version of the same prayer:-
I lay my body down to sleep
I pray to God my soul to keep, and if I die before I wake, I pray to God my soul to take.
    Another version:-
As I lay down my head to sleep I give to God my soul to keep, and if I die before I waken, Blessed Virgin waken me.
    Another version:-
As I laid down my head to sleep
I give to God my soul to keep. In the morning when I rise I give my soul to God likewise. There are four corners on my bed, there are four angels at my head, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John bless the bed that I lie on
