  1. There are many cromlechs in the neighbourhood of Ballycorus. These cromlechs are known as "Giants' Graves" or sometimes "Druid's Altars." There is one at Glendruid in the townland of Foxrock in the Parish of Cabinteely. It seems as if it would be almost impossible to put the granite block in position on the upright stones. This place for a Giants Grave must have been chosen because this great stone was there as it is so heavy it could not have been brought from a distance
There is a smaller cromlech on the Ballybrack Road near Loughlinstown. One of the stones supporting the roof stone has fallen and the big stone is now in a slanting position. About the biggest is in Kilternan in the Parish of Sandyford behind a place called Kilternan Abbey. The big stone resting on the upright ones is believed to weigh eight tons. It is easy to get into the chamber
