The owner of the field in which the well is, tried to cover it up and men he had working were told by him to roll a large rock over it. They roll it along to the edge of the well but it would go no farther for them and the rock is still to be seen there.
It is also said that this well cures diseases.
There was an old man whose legs were very sore and he went to St Cummins Well and bathed his feet in it and he got cured. Sometime after he came back and threw a stone in the well and he got bad again.
