It was a hard job to divide up the land (when the time of the division came) and give every man a piece of his own door. But they did it anyway by giving men bits here and there and what was over leaving it in common and calling it a co-meadow. You will find examples of this in Annaughmonnon in Aughavas and in Faughill and Drumloughan in Cloone. After the division many people built their houses on the lands but there are still places where the houses are still on the same street as in the case of Annaughmonnon mentioned above. Many more houses were knocked by the big wind in 1839 and then they were built on the farm.It was not so hard building houses in those days as it is now. When you wanted to build a house you went to a place in a field where there was good heavy blue dáwb a sticky cláwber. A pile of this was dug up, mixed in a hole and wet.
