- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The smith also used to band wheels. This was part of his work which he did in the open air. The forge was built near a stream so as to do this properly. There was an old road near the forge where a flag lay, which was round like a wheel. When he wanted to do band a wheel he left it rest on that flag.
The smith used to fix tongses also if they needed it. He would also fix a plough.
No story was heard about any smith who ever did any brave work. My parents never heard any old saying about the smith. The forge was a great place for hearing all the news of the parish.- Faisnéiseoir
