Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Over thirty years ago in the vicinity of Monagea Catholic church there was a remarkable echo. Since the trees grew up around the edifice the echo is not so clearly heard.
    In those days a poor simpleton frequently came to the locality and begged from door to door. When passing the church he always paused and in a loud voice asked "Will the poor be poor always?", emphasizing the last word. While the poor man stood and listened he clearly heard the the answer, "Always".
    He then bowed his head and clapped his hands and muttered, "O God almighty help us", and went on his way.
    On every occasion that he visited the place he put the same question and needless to add received the same answer.
