An Doineann.
In the Spring of the year 1912 a great wind swept over this country causing rack and ruin everywhere. It lasted for a day and a night and the memory of its disasters is still embedded in the minds of the people.Very little warning was given of the tremendous gale that was about to blow.it began as a very light breeze but hour after hour it blew stronger and stronger until it blew so hard that no one woulld dare go out side their doors..It did great damage to houses out -offices ,ricks of hay and turf. There was not one house in Tullycrine which was not damaged in some way or other. It blew the thatch and rafters off John Browne's house. The havoc it caused on land was as nothing when compared with that which it caused at sea.Several ships were lost and others of them did not reach port for months afterwards owing to loss of gear or men.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
