In this country when a girl and boy intend to get married their match is made.The boy sends some one of his friends to the girl's house to introduce the match.The parents of the boy and girl meet in some public house and introduce the match.The boys people tell the number of acres of land,cows, calves,pigs,sheep and horses they keep.The girl's parents tell the fortune they intend giving .If both are satisfied the girls friends walk the land and if they like the place a day is appointed for the girl to meet the boy in a Town and if they both like each other he takes her into a jewellers shop and fits on the wedding ring.About a week before the marriage the boy with some of his friends go to the girl's house and "Pick the Gander".Then they arrange the day for the marriage(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
