- There is a Round Tower in the village of Aughagower. It is situated almost in the centre of one of the graveyards within a few yards from the present chapel. There is a big breach in one side of it. It was built in the time of the Danes by monks They used to put the sacred vessels into it in order that the Danes could not take them.
- There are the ruins of St. Patrick's house in this district. It is about six hundred yards from the present church. It is situated a little distance from a hill called the Black Hill. People come from all parts of Ireland to see it and they bring some of the mortar with them in honour of St Patrick
