    To see the water wagtail (bird) flying around near you in a field is the sign of rain.
    But a sure sign of rain is to hear the Taghmon clock striking here (Galbally is about five miles from Taghmon).
    To see the wild geese flying from the bog of Allen down to the Sloblands is a sign of fine weather.
    If you see the seagulls flying up very high in the sky, and cackling, it is a sign of fine weather.
    If you see a fine big bright frog hopping about after rain the weather is going to be fine.
    To see the sun setting in a reddish ball of fire like between the months of January and April is a sign there is going to be frost.
