    The present road leading from the public road to the bog road north east of the Curate's house was also built. At the Oxford cross-roads there was a hill which was used to fill up a hollow at Reilly's of Church-Park. The workers on these roads were only paid sixpence a day of twelve hours, or a halfpenny an hour whilst the government clerks and other officials were paid ten shillings a day.
