- Long ago the Parish of Kiltimagh had no medical doctors or nurses and it had to depend on "Quack" Medical skill in both cases, but so far as the quack nurses were concerned it must be admitted that their undertakings were generally successful.
A man named Barrett was the most popular "quack" doctor in Kiltimagh parish and was very modest in his charges for his medical skill. To the poor his services were free -and the more fortunate, he never pressed for his medical fees but waited(continues on next page)- Collector
