- (continued from previous page)the girl’s dowry.
On the morning of the wedding, it was customary for the bride to sit beside the best man, and the bridesmaid to sit beside the bridegroom, while going to the chapel, and it was the reverse when returning.
When the married couple returned from the chapel, they held a wedding in the bride’s house. The wedding lasted all that day up until day-light next day.
When the bride would be going, to her home her friends would follow her, with old “ƅrόgs” and throw them after her, and wish her every joy and happiness.
The old people believed, that if the bride and bridegroom wore something borrowed, they would be very lucky.
