  1. During the time of the famine in Ireland, a poor man and a poor woman got married. They had one son. When this son was born they were very poor. The father went away to earn money to support his wife, himself and his son. The mother went begging and by the help from the people she managed to keep herself and her son.
    The father got work with a rich farmer and he worked for twenty years without payment. At the end of that time he thought of going home to see could he find his wife and son.
