  1. There is a fort in the townland of Croagh. This fort belongs to a farmer named Luke McGee. It is said that long ago this fort was inhabited by fairies. Generally every night they used to dance and have a great feast there.
    The following is told about this fort. One night a poor old man was out late. He came to a house and asked for lodging. The woman of the house, who was very selfish, refused. She was very fond of joing and mocking the fairies and she said to the old man,
    "Go over there in the field and you will get lodging in a castle on the fort. They are very good and they never refuse anyone."
    The woman knew well there was no castle on the fort, but she heard about the fairies that
