- About sixty years ago, people used to spin their own thread, both woollen and linen. Then they used to send it to a weaver to get it woven into frieze. There were two or three weavers in every Townland. When the frieze was woven it was very open and thin and it used to be sent to a mill to be thickened and pressed. Those were called 'Tuck Mills'.
There were to or three 'Tuck-mills' in Ballyeaskenmearellr. Langton's, A family named Guldons owned these mills. The ruins of these mills are to be see there yet.- Collector
