    One cold winter night we were all sitting around a bright turf fire.

    carried a lunch. On a hot day he carried a little can of water to quench his thirst.
    On this particular day he was in very bad humour. Everything went wrong on him. It was a beautiful day and the blackbird poured his fluting from the top of a majestic oak. The meek robin was heard but not seen. All these thoughts the old man put out of his mind and thought of nothing but his hardships and poverty. At last he reached the place where he was to start work. Being quite exhausted after two hours of hard work he sat down to partake of his frugal meal.
