    A horse-shoe is often hung over the cow-house door to bring luck to the cows.
    When a person has finished milking he makes the sign of the "cross" with milk on the cows back or side.
    They old people used to tie a piece of red thread on the cows tail as the supposed it would keep them from any discease which might be infectious.
    In these days their was no vet so when anything happens the cow a certain man was sent for. The man usually gave the cow a certain dose such as treacle, soap, soda and other cures. Sometimes the cow was sick and in such a state that the man would not be able
